Butter is used in many dishes to give a different creamy taste. Cut the butter in small pieces if you need to make it softer fast.


  • One of the best south indian samayal kurippu for making coffee. Filter coffee is very famous in south India. If you wish to make a tastier coffee then in coffee filter first add sugar then coffee powder and in the last add boiling water in it.
  • Making eggs omelet is easiest task but you can make a fluffy omelet by adding teaspoon milk in the egg batter.
  • Cauliflower has strong aroma and delicious flavor. To retain the white color of cauliflower add tablespoon of milk while cooking.
  • Lemons get dry in refrigerator also. Squeeze out lemon juice from fresh lemons and store it in deep freezer. It will remain fresh for a longer time
  • While cooking rice squeeze few drops of fresh lemon in it. Your rice will be cooked correctly and the grains will remain white.
  • While frying the onions, add little sugar in it. Onions will get fried quickly.  If your cooked gravy is too thin then add a tsp of rice flour or besan in the gravy. 
  • You can also add paste of cashew or almonds in it. In some curries paste of groundnut is also used to thicken the curry.
  • If you wish to make fluffy and crispy pooris, add tsp of rava or rice flour in the wheat flour while kneading.
  • To remove the stickiness from the bhendi, add one tsp of curd or lemon juice in it while cooking.
  • If you are planning to grind idli batter in mixer then soak the rice in hot water for 6-8 hours.
  • Cutting onions is a tedious job. Cut the onions into two pieces by removing outer covering and soak them in cold water for few minutes. This will prevent the burning of eyes while cutting them.
  • Soak paneer in warm salt water for 10 minutes. Remove from water, cut and add it in curries or gravies. You can enjoy softer paneer in your recipes.
  • Add pinch of salt in water while boiling eggs, it will prevent the cracking of eggs while boiling.
  • While making dosas, prepare the tawa by adding few drops of oil on it and rubbing half cut onion on entire tawa. Rubbing onion will prevent the dosas from sticking on the tawa.
